FreePianoTutorials.com up and running with videos

I wonder when youtube will accept me into the partner program.  :(  Maybe if I upload tons of new tutorial videos they will, but for now I have begun only posting new stuff at my new site http://freepianotutorials.com

It received 8,000 page views the first day.  :)  Hope people keep going to it!

The final shot at the buzzer is… … …

Last miscellaneous post.  Well I took a little risk today.  I deleted about 10 of my youtube videos which have been flagged as copyrighted material.  It’s been that way for a while, but by deleting those may get me accepted into the program.  It was difficult because I deleted my 2nd most viewed video; How to save a life by The Fray.  Ouch.  I now give myself a 1 in 5 chance of being accepted.  Most of you have heard of David Sides, probably the guy above me who plays awesome songs - and he’s good!  So basically he also is playing copyrighted material, but he is a partner.  With my ‘flagged’ videos removed by myself, maybe this will work and get me accepted into the partner program.  You have no idea how exciting this could be - and you should be as well.  This can be a full time job. :)

Important Weeks ahead for the future of Piano Learning

Ok, Ok! I know I haven’t posted in awhile, I promise to not keep this up.  The last few posts have been my personal thoughts and in the respected “miscellaneous” category.  I am working on some very important deals that correspond with the future of my teaching online.  If and when I can make these amazing things happen, I’ll be back to posting some daily tips and lessons.  Just keep me in mind and I’m trying to hang in there.  A very bright future may lie ahead, but as always there are forces acting as obstacles. :(  Trust me, everyone will benefit. :)

Youtube Partner Program Decision

I’m sorry I haven’t posted anything in awhile.  I wanted to hold up on everything while the decision was in review.  The reasoning being hopefully they would see I needed to be accepted to continue ‘my work.’  Of course,  I enjoy doing this anyways, and will continue to do so.  I got my E-mail finally after three and  a half weeks with the decision:  I was denied (as I expected).  I gave myself a 5% chance of being accepted so I wouldn’t get my hopes up.  Since my videos contain copyrighted material which I do not own, I cannot “monetize” it.  I was also worried that if I tried to apply, they would remove many of my videos or even close my account.  I knew I was risking a lot but figured to take a big shot at it.  Sometimes big risk can mean big reward.  Luckily, I didn’t get hit with the risk and losing many of my videos.  Sad for now, but will wake up tommorrow with a fresh smile and eagerness to learn and teach.
