The diagram below shows darker colors for heavier keys and lighter colors for light weight keys. It only shows one octave for demonstration purposes, but the weight does gradually decrease in the piano as you go from left to right. This is for beginners Don’t worry, we all had to start here at some point. Practice choosing the correct name of the note highlighted. Remember that black notes can be called sharps or flats. An F# (sharp) is also a Gb (flat). Once you master the notes, try reading notes from sheet music.
