Sometimes recording while listening to the song makes it difficult to maintain the same tempo, especially when the song is being played too loudly and I can’t hear my keyboard. I only played the chorus melody during that part, otherwise it’s the piano just like in the song. I play the bridge chords while tapping the bass notes during that part. Hope you like it!

Over the past two years since posting videos on Youtube, I have received the question almost daily of what advice I have on choosing a keyboard. This includes the question of should the keys be weighted or unweighted. If you are unfamiliar with those terms, weighted keys feel very realistic just like a piano. The are a bit heavy and require more force for your fingers to push down. To be fair though, many piano’s also have some variance in how the keys feel to your fingers.
I am proud to help you learn the twelve major scales! What exactly is a scale? Well, think of one of your favorite songs-if you try to play it on the piano, there are some notes that sound horrible and don’t fit!…because they are not apart of that songs “key” or scale. There are certain notes that can flow together and others that are just out of place. You probably already know the C major scale. They are all of the white keys!
Turn your speakers up! The following flash program is an excellent tool to help train your ears! A series of two notes will be played one by one. You are trying to figure out the distance between the two notes. You will not know the exact notes of the keys that are being played, but that is not important with this exercise.
