Keyboards that can Download Sound Patches from the Internet
I’ve always been curious about keyboards where you can literally make your own sounds and then add it to the keyboard. Then every key would just play it at a different pitch. A few months ago, I was visiting a website where you can download user-made sounds to be an instrument and play a midi file. A midi file is just information telling the computer or keyboard the timing of what notes to play and how loud to play them. The downside is that most computers have terrible sound banks so the file doesn’t sound realistic even though a “piano” is playing. Sounds like a three year olds’ toy piano if you ask me. But if you replace that with a sound patch of a good sounding piano, you are in business.
Next comes realistic sounding guitars, drums, synths, etc. It would be pretty cool to reproduce a song by yourself with very realistic sounding instruments, (just like the one’s in the real track). I have posted this in the piano/keyboard guide topic because I’m interested in purchasing a keyboard that can do this. I have seen those really expensive one’s at the music stores, but it just seems so complicated for the average player. I love my keyboard now, but want more realistic feeling keys, and an even bigger sound bank! I will definitely keep you posted on everything I learn about sounds you can download online and send them right to your keyboard! Very exciting to reproduce a song with almost the same exact instruments (sound anyway).
