Youtube Partner Program Decision

I’m sorry I haven’t posted anything in awhile.  I wanted to hold up on everything while the decision was in review.  The reasoning being hopefully they would see I needed to be accepted to continue ‘my work.’  Of course,  I enjoy doing this anyways, and will continue to do so.  I got my E-mail finally after three and  a half weeks with the decision:  I was denied (as I expected).  I gave myself a 5% chance of being accepted so I wouldn’t get my hopes up.  Since my videos contain copyrighted material which I do not own, I cannot “monetize” it.  I was also worried that if I tried to apply, they would remove many of my videos or even close my account.  I knew I was risking a lot but figured to take a big shot at it.  Sometimes big risk can mean big reward.  Luckily, I didn’t get hit with the risk and losing many of my videos.  Sad for now, but will wake up tommorrow with a fresh smile and eagerness to learn and teach.

Ryan and the Youtube Partner Program…fingers crossed

youtube_newlogo-thumb.jpg

Time to let my viewers know what’s going on with me…I applied to the Youtube Partner Program a few minutes ago and I have my fingers crossed.    I’ve known about it for awhile but didn’t waste my time applying because I have about a 1% chance of being accepted.  This is because my videos are copyrighted music.  Most big publishers have agreements with Youtube now allowing their music to be shown and they get a cut of advertising revenue. Keyboards that can Download Sound Patches from the Internet

Midi keyboard programI’ve always been curious about keyboards where you can literally make your own sounds and then add it to the keyboard. Then every key would just play it at a different pitch. A few months ago, I was visiting a website where you can download user-made sounds to be an instrument and play a midi file. Read the rest of this entry »

Train Your Ears with the Scale Ear Trainer

Turn your speakers up! This flash program will help you learn different scales. The major is the easiest and most recognizable. Make sure you read my post showing the different scales shown below in the program. You can practice them first so you become a bit familiar with them and their sound, then test yourself here to see your progress! Be sure to check out the most popular trainer for your ears, intervals! I believe that is the most important and relevant to ear training!  The main two you will play with popular songs is major or minor.  Others relate to jazz, classical, & more.  I soon will post up charts showing a series of highlighted keys for the different types of scales.
