I also have a post where I made a diagram of the notes that should be played in each scale. It will really help those who are already getting tired of counting the half and whole steps, lol. You can can see that post here. Also you can see this in a flash program in this article. Get the Flash Player to see this player.
Sometimes recording while listening to the song makes it difficult to maintain the same tempo, especially when the song is being played too loudly and I can’t hear my keyboard. I only played the chorus melody during that part, otherwise it’s the piano just like in the song. I play the bridge chords while tapping the bass notes during that part. Hope you like it!
P.S. To all of The Killers fans, I’ll have many different renditions of When you were young.
Over the past two years since posting videos on Youtube, I have received the question almost daily of what advice I have on choosing a keyboard. This includes the question of should the keys be weighted or unweighted. If you are unfamiliar with those terms, weighted keys feel very realistic just like a piano. The are a bit heavy and require more force for your fingers to push down. To be fair though, many piano’s also have some variance in how the keys feel to your fingers.
I am proud to help you learn the twelve major scales! What exactly is a scale? Well, think of one of your favorite songs-if you try to play it on the piano, there are some notes that sound horrible and don’t fit!…because they are not apart of that songs “key” or scale. There are certain notes that can flow together and others that are just out of place. You probably already know the C major scale. They are all of the white keys!
