Youtube Partner Program Decision

I’m sorry I haven’t posted anything in awhile.  I wanted to hold up on everything while the decision was in review.  The reasoning being hopefully they would see I needed to be accepted to continue ‘my work.’  Of course,  I enjoy doing this anyways, and will continue to do so.  I got my E-mail finally after three and  a half weeks with the decision:  I was denied (as I expected).  I gave myself a 5% chance of being accepted so I wouldn’t get my hopes up.  Since my videos contain copyrighted material which I do not own, I cannot “monetize” it.  I was also worried that if I tried to apply, they would remove many of my videos or even close my account.  I knew I was risking a lot but figured to take a big shot at it.  Sometimes big risk can mean big reward.  Luckily, I didn’t get hit with the risk and losing many of my videos.  Sad for now, but will wake up tommorrow with a fresh smile and eagerness to learn and teach.

Ryan and the Youtube Partner Program…fingers crossed

youtube_newlogo-thumb.jpg

Time to let my viewers know what’s going on with me…I applied to the Youtube Partner Program a few minutes ago and I have my fingers crossed.    I’ve known about it for awhile but didn’t waste my time applying because I have about a 1% chance of being accepted.  This is because my videos are copyrighted music.  Most big publishers have agreements with Youtube now allowing their music to be shown and they get a cut of advertising revenue. Life on The Brightside with The Killers

Most of you probably know that I love The Killers. I find myself listening to their songs every day…for the past 2 years I would say. There is just a special connection & energy with them or something.

The Killers

Does anyone else have a band that you feel this way about? I’m talking about admitting that you think about it way too much… I remember switching back n’ forth between Jay Leno and David Letterman one night on TV, and I saw the Killers perform “Somebody Told Me” on Letterman. By the way, I never watch any bands or singers perform, mostly because I don’t care, or if I do catch a glimpse I don’t like their music. But I saw them perform and that song is so catchy. I was hooked. The music and the look just reeled me in. Plus some say I kind of look like Brandon (lead singer) - maybe a little , but I’m honored  He pretty much is just like me. I’ve seen him in person (within 20 feet) two times, but didn’t get a chance to talk with him (I did talk at him lol). It’s like he is a small guy who is typically very quiet but he can light up on stage and become unattainable. He actually is about 2 inches shorter than me. I like that he doesn’t talk much on stage, and rarely off either, but I do enjoy the quick interview I can find on youtube so I can see what he thinks. Again, I find a connection there. What Do the Readers Want?

IdeaHey everyone - Ryan here…I’ve got a few articles coming along that will help many people. One of which is a video showing how I record my keyboard audio through my computer with great quality. That is how I make my piano mp3 files. I will show you how to do it, and you may only need a couple of materials that cost less than $10. I think videos are sometimes better than words so I’ll show many lessons with my keyboard rather than writing about it. Read the rest of this entry »
